Film, city and travel: three to love

“Others go to the movies and dominate situations, know more on New York than Lennon,” Uruguayan troubadour Jaime Roos used to sing. It’s true: the film is one of the best ways to travel without moving much. And a journey always starts with a wish, and there is no no bigger factory of wishes than film. On the screen, we learn to love those places where you may never have been, but still feel you are local: New York’s Central Park lake, the bridges of Paris, freezing steppes of Russia or the beaches of the Caribbean. It depends on the film and the landscapes that we like.

Festival of Films

The International Festival of Independent Films of Buenos Aires is one of the best traditions of the city. Next April, 6th, the 13th edition starts and this time, such number brings good luck. Until the 17th of April, the festival will present 426 works, including full-length and short movies, with the last and original films of the five continents. It is important to pay attention to the tickets sale, because it begins on the 28th of March for all the performances, within a unique system for the 22 theatres of the 11 venues of the festival, with a standardized price:

The Bafici celebrates its ten years

Prepare your eyewash: from April the 8th to the 20th, the city will be taken by the tenth Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Buenos Aires (Bafici: International Festival of Independent Films of Buenos Aires). This festival is one of the great prides of the porteños because since its first edition, this event has presented rare movies, found forgotten jewel films, confirmed talented young film makers and made people be acquainted with the author’s works from all over the world.
