December holidays are a happy time but also a complicated one, everywhere. In the cities, life becomes frenetic; the end of the world seems to be coming because everything must be completed before New Year’s eve. Buenos Aires is not the exception to the rule: every task must be done and finished in order to enjoy the toast and party.

Some cities – because of its age, size or beauty – become famous around the world and people think that they know them, at least a little, even though they have never visited them. There are symbols associated with these cities: if we say “Paris”, people will see an iron tower; if we say “Athens”, the ruins of a temple; if we say “London”, fog will not allow people to see anything.

The real state boom has established the demolition of many old buildings in order to construct the highest, the newest and the most expensive towers. Even though this boom modernizes the city, Buenos Aires loses part of its characteristic features and charm, the reasons why people from all the world love our metropolis.

Luxury hotels in Argentina

In 1979, Andrew Harper founded a monthly magazine of tourism aimed at rich and sophisticated travelers. Harper became famous because of traveling incognito and refusing ads in his magazine. 28 years later, the Hideaway Report is one of the most important publications of luxury tourism, and in September of 2007, two Argentine hotels were included in the Harper’s list of the best lodgings in the world.
